Contextual Weighting

Dynamic evaluation in the Logic Engine - the same engagement can be correctly interpreted as risk or opportunity depending on context.

Definition

Contextual Weighting is the core mechanism of the Logic Engine (Layer 3). Unlike rigid rule sets that apply fixed thresholds, contextual weighting adapts to the situation. High engagement combined with critical sentiment is classified as a Risk. The same level of engagement combined with solution-oriented intent is classified as a Sales Opportunity. Context includes temporal factors (live-stream vs evening session), behavioral mode (discovery vs conversion), and signal source (organic vs sponsored). This dynamic evaluation is what enables causal interpretation rather than correlation - the system understands why a metric moved, not just that it moved.

Why It Matters

Context determines meaning. Without contextual weighting, the same data point can lead to opposite conclusions.
